Think Spot-ON when the matter is asbestos removal

From small jobs to complex removals – we handle asbestos in homes, business, roofs, sheds, bathrooms, garages, soil and much more across Sydney.

What We Do

Spot-On Asbestos Removal is a fully licensed Class A & B contractor based in Sydney. We specialise in all types of small and medium asbestos removal works – from home renovations to make-safes, demolition prep, and clearance documentation. Our team is experienced, certified, and ready to keep your project moving safely and legally.

We Back It Up with Proof

All jobs are documented with photographic evidence, permits and final reports. Whether it’s for your peace of mind or required by law, we make sure you’ve got full records at every step.

Site Set-Up

We follow Class A & B setup requirements as per SafeWork NSW standards. The setup varies depending on the type of asbestos:

Bonded Asbestos (Class B):
➤ Warning signs
➤ Barricades or exclusion zones
➤ PPE, waste bags, and water control

Friable Asbestos (Class A):
➤ Full plastic enclosure (200μm), airlocks, and decon unit
➤ Negative Pressure Unit (NPU)
➤ Smoke test before work begins
➤ Wet method + full respiratory protection

Why is this important?
Proper setup prevents asbestos fibres from escaping and ensures legal compliance. Friable ACM is dangerous when airborne, so extra containment and monitoring are mandatory.

Paperwork & Notifications

We handle all legal and regulatory documentation, including:

SafeWork NSW notifications (Class A & B)

Neighbour and council notices (if required)

Emergency contacts and job signage onsite

Clear scope of works and SWMS

Why is this important?
Ensures the job is fully compliant and transparent. Prevents legal issues, site shutdowns, or complaints from authorities or neighbours.

PVA Sealing – Before Removal

We apply PVA sealant over asbestos-containing materials before removal begins.

Why is this important?
This step binds the surface and prevents fibres from becoming airborne during handling.

HEPA Vacuum & Wet Removal

We use industrial HEPA vacuums and wet removal techniques to safely remove ACM.

Why is this important?
HEPA filters trap 99.97% of particles — a key safety requirement. Water suppresses dust and reduces the risk of airborne contamination.

PVA Sealing – After Removal

We re-seal the entire area with PVA after removing all asbestos materials.

Why is this important?
It locks in any remaining microscopic fibres and ensures the site is safe for clearance inspection.

Smoke Test (Friable Jobs Only)

Required for friable asbestos projects. We conduct a smoke test before removal to ensure there are no leaks in the enclosure.

Why is this important?
Proves that the containment is airtight. This is mandatory under Class A licence conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions about asbestos removal

The price varies depending on the type of material, the location of the removal and the complexity of the work. Before providing a quote, we carry out a technical analysis on site to understand exactly what needs to be done. Only then can we offer a fair, personalized quote with no surprises at the end.

Yes, in many cases it is necessary to temporarily leave the property during asbestos removal. The need to do so depends on the type of material to be removed, the location and extent of the affected area. Our team always makes a prior assessment and informs you in advance whether it will be necessary to vacate the premises, for how long and what the safety procedures are.

Yes. Spot-On is certified to handle hazardous materials such as lead and mold. Our Class A license allows us to decontaminate environments with these residues, following strict protocols to ensure the health and safety of the site after cleaning.

Asbestos is a natural mineral composed of microscopic fibers. When disturbed, these fibers become airborne and easily inhaled, which can lead to serious health conditions such as lung cancer, mesothelioma and other respiratory diseases.

There is no safe level of exposure to asbestos, as it is a genotoxic carcinogen. Those most at risk include people involved in repairs, maintenance, renovations, and other work in older buildings containing asbestos materials.

Our team follows strict safety protocols for asbestos removal projects. Each project is carefully planned, and the removal process depends on the specific site requirements. Factors such as access, condition of the asbestos, and the overall scope of the job influence the removal cost. For an accurate estimate, contact our team to arrange an on-site inspection.

Proper maintenance of asbestos removal equipment is critical to safety. Equipment like HEPA-filtered vacuums and Negative Pressure Units (NPUs) must be serviced regularly and undergo DOP (Dispersed Oil Particulate) testing every 6 to 12 months to ensure they effectively contain asbestos fibers.

Health surveillance programs and fit testing are essential for worker safety. Contractors should provide annual respirator fit tests and continuous health monitoring for employees to comply with legislation and ensure safety.

Air monitoring and clearance inspections are critical to ensure a safe work environment. Air monitoring measures airborne asbestos fibres released during removal, while clearance inspections conducted by independent Licensed Asbestos Assessors confirm proper removal and decontamination. These inspections are essential for legal compliance and peace of mind.
